Thunder raceway is located in Show Low, Arizona. This track is a 1/4  mile, dirt oval. It was just resurfaced with very fine clay.  Most nights this is a very wide track for a quarter mile, find some good side by side racing here.

Racing begins in may and runs through September, their Saturday night races feature IMCA Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Dwarf Cars, Mini Stocks, USAC Sprint Cars, mini sprints, bombers and mod lites.  The bomber division is fairly new and has taken off like wild fire, the fans as well as the drivers love these cars. There is RV parking at the track, as well as many hotels in town, just a mile away.  Lots of good eating too!

DirtCars.net has been to this track many times and we can tell you there is some good racing in all the divisions.  In the past years they have had some trouble getting participants for the late model class so they have not had that class for a while.  The parking is ample, huge lot.  The concessions are run by some of the local high school kids, great nachos!  The restrooms are indoor plumbing under the grandstands, sinks, mirrors and fresh paint.

Thunder raceway gets a good crowd every Saturday night but when they present the sprint cars the stands are packed, it’s standing room only. The promoters try to have something special for intermission.  One time they had a monster truck tank jump a motor home.  Needless to say that was a sight to see, right through the motor home.  One time they had a motorcycle jump and many more entertaining events.  Visit Thunder Raceway today!
